GLOBAL FEST
11/3/09, 4:52 p.m.
ОЙ! РУССКИЕ! Have you ever wanted the chance to shamelessly plug the Motherland? Here's your chance: OISS [Office for International Students and Scholars] is holding their annual Global Fest on November 15th from 12 to 5 pm at the MSU Union.
Global Fest gives us (and every other country represented in and around East Lansing) the opportunity to promote everything and anything Russian to people ranging from 8 to 80. It's a great chance to show off your knowledge of literature, music, art, science, history, the language, or at least explain what a матрёшка is. This year Russian Club will not only have two tables on the presentation floor (because, let's face it, Russians need a lot of room for their stuff), we will be participating in the cultural performances. A few of our club members and officers will be singing Катюша, and we might just be able to get some of the Russians to show up in their traditional dress.
If any of you are interested in presenting OR performing, please contact any of the e-board members in person, by email, by facebook message, or whatever you prefer. We're still looking for more people, so the more the merrier.
